Hi. While we almost can not do without root right, these kind of issues as inherent in rooted device. You possible fix can be in one of two ways outline below
Method One
- You would need to reinstall the soft keys app if it is corrupt or force enable it if disable
- As for the display, either an incompatible app caused this or the display drivers/settings will need a rework. This method is advanced and not guaranteed to work until the cause of the issues are isolated
Method Two
- Download Titanium Backup and use it to backup all your user apps, settings and data
- Flash a fresh ROM as per the tutorial here http://www.satechhelp.co.za/6361/Flash-Vodacom-Smart-Tab-3g
- Root the Vodafone Smart Tab again and load Titanium Backup and restore all
- Then lookup the update using via Settings > About tablet > Software updates > Check for updates ... or use the Alcatel OT Updater.
