Hi. The Vodafone Smart Grand (VF696) is running Android Lollipop 5.1 that comes with a hard reset protection anti-theft feature (also known as Device Protection) intended to deter device theft. If activate, hard reset triggers it and the previously sync email address will be requested before the device can be re-setup for reuse. You will need to visit your nearest VodaShop if you are unable to retrieve the email address in question. To be able to enter the previously sync'd email without WiFi, make sure you have a SIM that has active data service installed.
