hard resetting a phone

i have a samsung galaxy trend neo duos that has a lot of patterns and lock codes,basically it belonged to my girlfriend and she forgot all her locks..when i simultaneously click and hold the  (power, volume up and home button  )it does not work but when i substitute the "volume up with the volume down button" it shows this=Warning!! a custom OS cause critical problems in phone and installed applications. If you want to download a custom OS, press the volume up key. Otherwise, press the volume down key to cancel.....When i press the volume down key it reboots the phone but when i press the volume up key it shows this=
